Land Law Negotiation
Today was our land law negotiation excercise at Bond University Law School. My partner was Morgan Shipp. We represented the Tenants. The other parties were the Developers, Owners and Management of the Property. Basically there was a fictitious scenario that the management wasn't doing a good job...I dunno, something like that.
Anyway, Robert Fisher and William Ury have one of the most respected books on negotiation out there. It's called Getting to Yes. In that book there is a section about creative options.
While Morgan and I held our own in the negotiation and followed the law of the Body Corporate Community Management Act, I'm not sure that suggesting that all parties have a barbecue to help settle some of the issues was such a great idea.
