Flame Trees

  • Life in residence is great - but someone stole my laundry the other day. I put up a note to ask them to return my underwear and shorts from K-Mart. I got everything back tonight.
  • This is the first time I've slept on a single bed since I was 12. I've got two single beds, but for some reason don't want to put them together. But it aint that bad.
  • Guess it's time to get some more work done with exams coming next week and one last paper to do.
  • Stephane Dion is the new leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. People say he can't win (I don't want him to)...however, they used to say Dalton McGuinty and Stephen Harper could never win.
  • Trolls belong under bridges.

It was a tight leadership race yesterday for a while until the final ballot. Oh well, Dion's got some good ideas and no bagage. Although I like the general Conservative platform Harper is an idiot and has been pissing alot of people off. For example, now taxing income trusts after campaining he wouldn't. Even the polls are now heavily slanted towards the Liberals. I think the last election was more of a populist one where the scandal laden Liberals got caught with their pants down and people wanted to see a change rather than anything else. I think the fact that it was a close minority win also emphasizes the point that most people wern't totally convinced of the PC but thought they'd give them a chance.
However, the general atmosphere around Ottawa appears to be happy to see Dion (over the other candidates) win the leadership. THe PC is said to be pleased as wel since Dion is less known throughout the country and has much work to do to win more votes in his home province of Quebec (since he's a federalist and the separists hate him). I'm going to say that once he and the party feel confident that he's gotten enough credibility and exposure all over the country they'll try and force and election, which might be close. Even if the Liberals nky win a minority however they may still be in beter shape than a minority PC government since the NDP and even the Block would be more inclinded to side with them.
Sorry for the long note but I thought I'g give my perspective of how I see things in Ottawa haha.. Good luck on exams G.

I just saw the new age sensitive guy 'Skuller' post haircut. If that character with a head like a busted arse can be 007 whats that say for 'Skuller'. Incidently, a name change is in order for 'Skuller'. Can we forever more refer to this handsome young man as 'Jack'. You know positive reinforcement! Big things will become of this young man if he keeps this up!

ok so the pc that usually has the sign on it 'temporarily out of service' has been temporarily back in service. This semester it has been outta service for 12 out of 13 weeks. Why not chuck it out if its unserviceable. You know the one on the ground floor of the law library in the video streaming area. The one you go to when all the pc's are in use to see that demoralising sign. It's the pc that lunatic the culinary critic asked Paul and the IT guys about two months ago. My daughters primary school has better IT service for $1200 a year. I pay close to $40,000 a year and cant even get on to a pc worth about $400. Listen tell them to add that to my fees and replace that pc.

ok so I ate in the Brasserie tonight. It was fantastic. Meat balls, rice, beans and carrots. Followed by fresh crisp fruit salad. It was great. Good work to the staff!

Well I ate some very average pasta down the road. My local dining experiences by in large have been good. Except last week when I was at one of my regular haunts and they gave me the wrong meal. Normally I wouldn't say anything however, it has happened four times. Anyway I scored a free wine out of it.

Going home for the weekend to go to a family wedding. I will try and do some study. Still don't know what I am going to wear as the dress I paid $800 for from Elizabeth Street in Sydney still hasn't arrived yet. I am kinda stressing.

Gordon, who is publishing this nonsense on your blog? This time it is not me, nor a member of my family. That's a first, but it's a bit dumb and even exam stress may not be a plausible excuse. AFI Awards, great viewing, and great procrastination

Emma - It's not like I have a TV or any other form of entertainment in my room. Well I better go as I have a plane to catch from Brisbane.
