Moot Point
Yesterday was my moot court presentation for my obligations law class. Let's just say that it wasn't my best performance. For those of you that don't know, the moot court going in front of a judge - usually your professor, with a case of appeal (most often) and having to fight for your client's case. Half of the program is how you present yourself in front of the court. For example, you're to address the court with phrases like: your honour; we respectfully submit; counsel's argument is; we seek leave to dispense with...
You get the picture. You're to stay away from language that is colloquial. Basically you speak when told to speak, or if not, you ask to speak or don't speak at all.
I'm not going to get into the whole details of the case, but my partner (as seen from Degrassi Street from a previous post) played playstation all weekend while I worked. I still don't know what the real difference is from a sale by description from a sale of specific goods and why the rule in Grant v Australian Knitting mills applies - so what that some fool got dermatitis from buying underwear. What the hell does that have to do with a faulty wedding dress...now I'm just rambling...and in fact, it does have something to do with a faulty wedding dress.
Anyway, here's some advice to prospective mooters: 1) When you start talking about how a section of an act applies to this case, know what the section says exactly...2) don't laugh half way your submission 3) Don't ask the judge when you're done making your submission if the air condition is on in the room? It was hot as hell in there...
Oh well, can't win em all.

Whats with that racism post? Someone got worked up in there.
P.S. I wasn't playing playstation all weekend, just some of it...
Meanwhile I am putting posts on your blog to put off working on another assignment...
You did a good job in the moot buddy, but between that picture of you playing squash and how you were after your moot... I think you sweated off more weight talking to the judge than on the squash court :P
