The good, the bad, and the ugly...

From the last week...

The Good:
  • Every candidate that put their name on the ballot for school election.
  • Vish Narayan, Troy Smith, Mike Truce who went above and beyond this week in campaigning. These guys deserve a lot of credit for doing what needed to be done.
  • Final Figures not in, but significantly more people voted this year than last year. Again, credit has to be given to the people that went above and beyond.
  • The Student debate team of Jodie, Brendan and the Vitamin who beat the Staff dream team of Duncan Bentley, Jo Hintz and David Field.
  • Don's Tavern last night...and the week before. With all the doom and gloom over voter apathy and the death of Don's Tavern - I think we may be on our way to becoming better than ever. Don't forget Brett Cadman's email last semester about getting people out - he started it.
  • Nitay Levi and Bronte Campbell for taking a keen interest into the affairs of the school and writing them on this blog.
  • The Plug and Wireless Association who failed to bring their issue up with the candidates at the Presidential debate. Rumour has it that President Marc Lucenti may be impeached from his Presidency of this crucial Bond organisation.
  • Joe Corrigan and George Raptis on Bond TV (not sure if this one would go under good, bad, or ugly...mainly because James and I were on).
  • Thanksgiving dinner made by a few Canadian girls...fantastic!
  • Bondstock. Great events so far. Tonight at the Cerum theatre is something else...I'll be there.
The Bad:
  • Wednesday by the water. I thought we paid our activity fee so we could get a hamburger or sausage. Why are their students lining up that haven't paid their fees? What was the point of me paying my fee if people that haven't paid are getting the same benefits?
  • 5 Uncontested positions for school council.

The Ugly:
  • James Payne demanding, at the Presidential debate, that the minutes from council meetings be posted from now on! (they've been posted online for a few semesters...)
  • The weather. Where's the sun? The staff at www.gordprisco.blogspot.com needs a beach day.

If you don't pay your activity fee then you should either have to pay for the activity or not get to do it. Simple!

I think non-activities fees students pay $2 for the BBQ. Could be incorrect, but pretty sure.

In the vast hall adjacent the ever cheerful Kathy and the coffee cart. You know the room airconditioned 24/7 by 365 for the occupant of one person. Well there are medical personel testing certain student for TB. I understand that the students of various classes have been notified to report for testing as a result of being possibly exposed. Why hasn't the student population been notified of this possible risk. Surely the University owes a DOC to at least notify us. Although, I may not of been in his/her class I could of been in contact with the 'risk' in a number of other ways.
Given the 'fiscal' way public health is managed in this state I am not too happy having not been notified.
Why have 'possible' carriers of the illness massing next to a coffee cart anyway. Seems illogical and dangerous.
I wonder if Kathy was informed?

The price of a flat white has been increased by 10 cents to $2.50. That's pretty expensive given:
The milk is stored in an esky prior to use. The water comes from plastic containers filled from a tap adjacent. If the University wants to increase the price surely they can give Kathy a direct water line and a proper fridge. The temperature of the milk must be hard to keep within legal limits using an esky. My guess is if a complaint is made Kathy will be terminated and the cart will go. It's like everything else on the Gold Coast! Smashed on your plate porridge in an institution!

I assume the reason for testing is not a student from the law school but who knows what is going on???? Gordon are you the host of the TB?

nah gordie you're not guilty of plagarism or anything of the sort. You saw that i had a great idea and that probably influenced you. whether the law school would see it as that is a different matter. I guess you should have referenced me, but this is difficult given that I AM STILL PROHIBITED!

Culinary Critic Dead. Mysterious illness kills the Vitamins leading field journalist. At 5.15pm today the culinary Critic expired whilst being doubled to Robina Hospital by the Editor on a stolen bicycle (ex Robbie Bartrom and owned by Don). He was hit by a 'bronze Holden statesman'. The culinary critic made a 'dying declaration' claiming to identify the driver. Police released a statement claiming the evidence revealed that the culinary critic was specificaly targeted by the car. Skuller clings to life support and rejects all blood transfusions from blood given during the recent 'blood drive.' Gordon evades injury by jumping off the stolen bicycle and leaving the culinary critic coasting along the highway. Police chasing bronze holden statesman back towards Robina!!!
