The great debate

Another exciting day at Bond University...here are the highlights:

  • Staff vs Student debate held tonight with the law faculty's best on hand to try and defeat the student team of The Vitamin, Brendan Donoghue, and Jodie Freestone. The topic was Is Corporal Punishment for Juveniles acceptable? We had the negative side. The staff team was made up of Torts Prof Jo "I'm not adverse to a good spanking" Hintz, Crim Prof David "I've urinated almost everywhere" Field, and Dean of Law Duncan "Julius Caesar" Bentley. It was a spirited debate - but when the points were tallied, the students came out on top. A great crowd turned out to watch in the Princeton room.
  • The polls opened today for the Bond University student elections. Apparently the turnout wasn't as good as hoped. www.gordprisco.blogspot.com and all the staff here remind people to get out and vote.
  • Tonight The Vitamin and James Payne were the guests on Bond TV with hosts Joe Corrigan and George Raptis (known famously for Raptor's Rant in the Scope). James and I discussed politics on campus and voter apathy at Bond University. Look for the podcast of this program soon to appear on this blog. The show is just as disgraceful as this blog...with that said, I hope they have me back.
  • Wednesday night Bondstock week is the hypnotist. The Vitamin may attend, however, we at www.gordprisco.blogspot.com are looking forward to Empire and Don's Tavern this coming Thursday.
  • The Plug and Wireless society led by someone who claims never to read my blog, yet, finds a way to comment on it more than most (Marc Lucenti), has had their concerns heard by the LSA and Brendan Donoghue. Look for further expansion of wireless internet at Bond University in the coming weeks.
  • Tomorrow afternoon 55 live chickens will be released under the arch in a chicken catching contest.
  • Never believe a thing that is written on this blog
  • Bronte's brother was seen again.
  • Did anyone get James Payne the council minutes yet?

Kids are way too undissiplined now-a-days. Maybe mandatory military training would help decrease having to disipline kids so much as they would learn respect and the value of hard work.

Vanuatu Police Commissioner Patu Navoko Lui said he had regarded the case against Mr Moti - who resigned in September as adjunct professor at Bond University on the Gold Coast - closed after it was dismissed by a Vanuatu magistrate in 1999. There have been allegations Mr Moti had paid for the magistrate to attend a course in Australia.

Spelling mistake; 'The show is just as disgracefully as this blog'

When is this blog going to be held accountable?

On behalf of the PWA, (plug and wireless association) I would like to thank Mr Donoghue for his quick efforts to extend wireless throughout the law school. The PWA has worked tirelessly for months now on this and finally after a night of hard negotiations we were able to hammer out a workable arrangement. But the PWA is not simply the WA, so i move now to work on getting more plugs for the law school and the schools lecture theatres. I hope the Vitamin and his blog which i hate and despise and would love to destroy will continue to support the PWA.

I know Mr Moti personally. He sponsored one of my best friends at law school, through education in australia and bond law. Moti himself is a QC in the Solomon Islands, and runs one of the strongest private law practices in the region. Hence being recently promoted to the country as AG.

Australia dislikes nothing more than one of their nationals holding state positions in other countries. Child sex offences? Apparently occurring in Vanuwatu? Australia all of a sudden wants to utilise its jurisdiction & extradiction agreements with Vanuwatu to enforce the charges against Moti?

A trial (not even a conviction) would be the perfect end to an Australian National's tenure as AG in a country which has recently critised the Aus Gov't and particularly the Ambassador there. Don't you think?

Kind of true Vish, He was areested and tried in Vanuatu years ago, It was for sleeping with a 13 year old kid the trial was thrown out at commital, There are alegations he payed the magistrate off. We have arrested in PNG and are using ourr extradition and extra territorial powers there, Under Australian law there is no double jeopardy for being thrown out at commital.

He will recieve a fair and transparent trial in Australia, although it is clear Australia is only flexing its muscel
