Quick Hit...

  • Club 20 on tonight. The Vitamin is under the weather today and is at home trying to do some work so he can make it tonight. Here's the good news - Club 20 back to $8. Your LSA passing on the savings to you - the law student (if only Donoghue could fix the website seen here...day 125).
  • I had a good chat with Ari Comert yesterday. He's on top of things.
  • The Bond School paper came out yesterday to rave reviews - 8 pages! Nice work Troy.
  • An interesting article on page 7 from Sam Berry about comment sections on blogs at the school. He speaks to the anonymity factor of comments and how it's a veil that people hide behind. Well folks, he's right. It was a well thought out article. If you wanna have a go at anyone here, you're gonna have to leave your name or email address. I'm not banning anonymous comments, but if they show you're a chicken shit, they're not going up. So don't bother.
  • The album of the week is Jar of Flies by Alice in Chains. The lesser known of the big grunge acts to come out of Seattle in the early 90's (others being nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam), they were probably the best.
  • Mike Bourque informs me that in New England in early last century that prisoners were only allowed to be given lobster twice a week because Lobsters are bottom feeders and it was considered inhumane.
  • I really don't have anything useful to say anymore.
  • Oh yeah, and another guy who knows what he's doing is Will Ewing - Competitions director on the LSA. The client interview competition wasn't good....the staff student debate was great. The negotiation competition is on in week 10. I am predicting a great event as Ewing has been a quick study to what works and what doesn't.
  • If you're looking for student council minutes - just ask James Payne. I'm proud to announce that he is become the third critic on this blog (following in the footsteps of the Cullinary Critic and the Alcohol Critic). His official title is Critic of Student Council Minutes. I expect his first report this weekend.

Did you delete Donoghue's whole blog - it's just gone?

Oh dear that sounds pretty full on to be deleting an entire blog. Unfortunatley I will not be going to Club 20 as I am on antibiotics and I am a bit of a Cadbury.

Gordon,

I have been an avid reader of your blog for some time and if I may make a comment…

I appreciate your comments about dear old Bond and the often confusing way things are accomplished there. However, I must object to some of your comments about Brendan. In your absence, I went to Club 20 tonight. And I had a ball. It was a fantastic, well run function, and while I did not win the raffle (much to my disappointment) I was impressed by the event and the LSA in general.

I felt it important to let you know that your LSA and its fearless leader worked hard tonight, and were wildly successful. Sometimes, focusing on the negative has shock value, but the positive is so much more realistic.

Cheers,

Claire

Gordon I know you have been told this before and it wouldn't phase you anyway. However, this is YOUR blog not the lsa or any other peanuts. Run it as you wish. I know your not bowing to any of these imbeciles.
You cant get any lower as an elected official than accepting alcohol for free from a nightclub that you promote in your position. It concerns me that the Lsa Presidents lust for FIREWATER may involve the student body here in breaches of the Liquor Licencing Legislation in Queensland. That is, the 'Authorities' are interested in any 'free drinks' to entice you to drink situation. These clubs are in the business of making profits Gordon not charitable donations. I have often wondered about the 'irresponsible drinking' that the student representative bodies at Bond Lsa have promoted recently. Now I understand why.

Hello everyone I have been up since about 2:30AM writing an assignment and hence I didn't go to Club 20 last night. However, I may be able to assist with the provision of cheap alcohol (tax free) for a future function. My offer would depend on how much it would cost in petrol to go and pick the booze up but it might be worth some further investigation.
