Squash Player Profile - Jay "The Butterfly" Fenn
Currently ranked #6 on the squash ladder, Jay Fenn (aka – the Butterfly), is as nimble as they come on the squash court. The picture above is the face he gives after a winning a point. To many it's terrifying.
The Butterfly is aptly nicknamed being a phenomenal athlete with a unique combination of grace, speed, power, artistry, improvisational ability and an unquenchable competitive desire.
However, a blow to the Butterfly's game came two weeks ago when coach Brett Martin (formerly ranked #2 in the world) informed Jay that his favorite shot “the Turnaround” was actually banned in competition many years ago, due to its dangerous nature. Other players question whether or not Jay can recover from the loss of his signature shot.
Strengths: Intimidation factor - The Butterfly led his hockey team in penalty minutes every year he played. There is always a threat that he may fight you on the court. Rumour is, he once cross-checked an opponent with his racket. Out of instinct, the butterfly left the court for 2 minutes, and rushed back on the court when the two minutes expired.
Weakness: Backhand is lacking. We're not sure if the fact that the Butterfly boasts (a get out of trouble shot in squash) every shot is a weakness or strength.
Interesting Fact: (Censored)
