I'd like to talk about a recent comment to one of my messages. Here it is:Anonymous said...
This blog is getting a little bit boring. What about a comment on the Australian tourism add? Canada has sensored this. The UK did but had a change of heart. As an Australian I wish they had come up with something a little more imaginative that did need to employ the phrase: "where the bloody hell are you?" Qantas did an advertising campaign a few years back that was far more effective.
Now, I have a few ideas of who wrote this. However, that's not the point. Here are the points.
1) If you think my blog is boring - Bite my nuts, I'll write about squash, a roasted chicken, or Commander Ackbar whenever I please. That's why the address has my name in the URL. It doesn't say www.anonymousfool.blogspot.com (that's not a real link...but it should be).
2) Ok, I'll humour you on the tourism ad. The ad should say something like this - "Please come to Australia. We're racist. Look at our Constitution. There's a clause that has been interpreted by the High Court of Australia so that the government can make laws to the detrminent of any race. As well, we recently had a mob of people in Sydney beating some Muslims. We don't have a Bill of Rights. We'd rather curtail rights of our people. Also, Sharks ate a 21 year old girl close to Brisbane last month. Or why don't you come here to get stung by a Boxed Jellyfish, it'll cause you to have the worst death known to man. Or how about come to the Gold Coast where Tatoos covering half of your body is mandatory."
3) Qantas...well...they're a good airline. And you know the reason why? They got their start using De haviland planes. And where do you think they came from? Don't know? I'll tell you - Canada. And what type of planes did Qantas just order? Bombardier planes...hmmm...take a guess where they're from. They're just for short-haul flights though. We won't sell them planes to travel over the ocean, we're worried that the on-board tatoo parlours might distract the pilots.
That's all for now. Keep the comments coming.
