Clippers...

In absence of anything useful to provide on this blog (what else is new), I will provide the following clips. That is all.

We like the moon.... what the hell is that clip.

This is just wrong...but what a trooper. The girl will be something someday.

This kid likes to play the drums...

Classic Trailer Park Boys....funded by the government of Canada.

and probably the best Trailer Park Boys episode - The Conky Episode.

what would a clip page be without this.

This guy was in High Fidelity and is one of my favourite actors...I'll have to see this movie.

and how about a little Napoleon....and a little of him on Letterman.

Mo Money, Mo problems

  • Sometime I think I should give it all up and live the life of a gangster (or "gangsta" as they call it on the streets).
  • It's hard to give too much credit to the Ramones. For one, they admit quite openly that during their youth they often sniffed glue. They even have a song about sniffing glue. Here are the lyrics to that song:
Now I wanna to sniff some glue,
Now I wanna have somethin' to do,
All the kids wanna sniff some glue,
All the kids want somethin' to do.

  • Jeff Hodge just informed me that Faith the dog was just on Oprah. Jeff said this, that dog is "pretty inspirational."

Coming and Going

  • High Fidelity is a great movie, and a great soundtrack.
  • A friend of mine is traveling through Europe. My friend is currently in Nice (pronounced Niece) France on the French Riviera. Wittingly, I asked my friend if they would be traveling to the sister city of Nice called Nephew. They responded that they didn't think they would make it there. Well, I said, make sure not to miss the small German town of Auntie. This conversation continued until they finally questioned if there really was a village in Italy called second-cousin.
  • Let's play the Feud! Even I was laughing at this one.
  • I just did a test on myself. I wanted to see if Faith (this blogs official dog) would still make make me laugh hysterically...I wasn't feeling it at first, but all I had to see was that dog walking around and I was on the floor. That dog is amazing.
  • The album of the week is Marvin Gaye's 1971 hit What's Going On. Just listen to it yourself, that guy was talent.
  • Another friend of mine who is having lady problems told me this. "Girls come and go, but hopefully you come, before they go."
  • I'm gonna throw this out there...not only is Back in Black the greatest hard rock album of all-time, it is the most complete album in the history of music. And while worldwide sale cannot be determined officially, guesstimates have Back in Black as the second best-selling album in the history of world music (Thriller being number one).
  • Jimmy Barnes' voice sounded best in Flame Trees and You Got Nothing I Want.
  • I wish I would have blogged yesterday, I had some good material. It doesn't help when the staff have the holidays off though.

A Day in the Life

  • Eating ice cream and pie with coffee reminds me of days going to Future Bakery (bottom above) in Toronto with my friend Al Pyette. It was there he shared his common sense wisdom with me.
  • The other picture is of a man that could have been outside the bakery waiting for me to give him money.
  • It seems as though our concerns about the library have been addressed. Next semester the library will be open everyday at 8am and on Friday (from week-four) until 9pm. If every department in the school could be run like the library, Bond would be even better than it already is.
  • Al Pyette still holds the minor league hockey record for goals in a game with six, including three posts. Next game - didn't touch the puck.
  • Jim Payne advises me that the Star Trek movies that end in even numbers are better than ones ending in odd. His current favourite is Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan.
  • Pertaining to an email that was sent to our Bond Accounts regarding some kind of stress relief was brought to the attention of Angela Lacey (responsible for all emails) and Registrar Allan Finch. Finch responded that he agreed with me, for him to leave it in his hands....I predict a busy semester for Finch from the Skuller and Me. But so far, he's up to the job. Maybe I'll ask him 7 questions?
  • I emailed Anthony Spegel yesterday asking him to consider giving priority for all Brasserie jobs to Bond Students...well...at least all the jobs to do with dishwashing. The idea was originally from the Culinary Critic - Matt Lorkin. I think I gave Spegel good rationale. We'll see what he comes back with.
  • Mike Hart is your Liberal (liberal here is conservative) candidate for Burleigh. We're gonna do all we can to get him elected and beat the incumbent.

Couldn't resist...

Usually I don't dedicate posts. But this one goes out to Dave Lucenti and his favourite golfer David Duval.

Why Dave doesn't like Mike Weir we're not sure...we've speculated that he doesn't like Canada, or Tim Hortons, or Hockey or Wayne Gretzky. There can be no other explanation to why he wouldn't support a hometown guy like "Weirsy." Anyway, he has shown signs of wanting to join team Weir...but we're not sure when he's gonna make the switch (it's possible if he started watching good players, it may show in his own golf game).

Anyway, here are some clips I found on David Duval (it was hard to find them cause his ranking in the world is so bad).

"Reports of David Duval's return to form proved premature as the American flopped again yesterday."

"golf's version of the Titanic."

"The 34-year-old recorded SEVEN bogeys and one double-bogey."

"Last year on the PGA Tour, he made one cut in 20 starts. He earned $7,630."

"I hit most every fairway, most every green, just didn't get the putts to fall," said Duval (go ahead Duval....excuses excuses....)

"At this year's Masters, he didn't make the cut after shooting an 84 and a 75"

This is the end

  • End of Sem bash was a success last night at Don's tavern. Goodbye to the Wild Drunk, The Rocket (and the Sprocket), Will Fennell, Sam Chester, Rob Bartrop, Naomi King is going to Japan, Nate and Paula are off to Chicago for a semester at Northwestern. I say this to the people that are leaving - Long may you run.
  • I'm not sure if it's a good idea to be eating M&Ms for breakfast.
  • Skuller never stops with the good work. Over lunch in the Brasserie yesterday, Skuller was asked where he was from. He responded, "Rockhampton...if you haven't been there....don't go." I am sure Tourism Rockhampton will be knocking down his door looking to give the Skuller a job.
  • Jay Botelho needs to learn some better moves. Last night was a disgraceful performance.
  • Nate (of the terrible three) believed that the slot machines at Delano's bar (pokies) were discriminating against him because he is Jewish.
  • Great to see Canadian golfer Mike Weir near the top of the leaderboard at the PGA Championship. The brother's Diot (Lucentis) are again cheering against him. Why do they dislike Mike Weir? Do they also hate Tim Hortons, hockey, and snow? Ironically, Dave Lucenti's favourite golfer missed yet another cut this week at the PGA - David Duval. In more positive news for Duval, he moved up seven spots in the world golf ranking to number 304. But close on Duval's heels is Andrew Mclardy from South Africa. Can Duval catch # 301 Kim Jong Duk from Korea by end of the year? Stay tuned!
  • I met a girl named Jazmine last night who works for the Gold Coast Bulletin. I told her I was also a member of the media. I said, that I cover the Bond University beat. She hadn't heard of the blog....does she live under a rock? Doesn't matter...I told her I had never heard of the Bulletin either.

Sand People

  • James Payne has advised me that after his exams this semester he thinks he might quit it all and go live his life as a Sand Person (see above). He also asked me if I also wanted to become a Sand Person. I am still undecided...however, if I left, the staff at www.gordprisco.blogspot.com would most certainly miss me.
  • First there was stripes and dots blog, then there was team inappropriate blog...they both started off with a bang. Well, it's early...but I will tell you what, The Skuller has taken it to a new level while the others have faded. We don't always support his methods, but I must say that he's done it again with his "Bond in Turmoil" report. See it here...well done Skuller (he's even said that he'd work on the spelling mistakes).
  • And for all the girls travelling during the Bond break, be weary of this one....
  • I don't know why I got to thinking of this, but here's my favourite hockey player of all-time - Wendel Clark. If there's anyone I'd like as a teammate, it's him. See him here, and here.
  • A special thanks to someone that is sometimes known as "C" on this blog for buying me tissues...Eucalyptus smelling at that.
  • More on The Skuller...he informed me that he was not going to be at end of semester bash. I flat out told him this was unacceptable, and he risks a four-day suspension (a four-day suspension is another method we use to punish people at www.gordprisco.blogspot.com) from his role as the alcohol critic. I told him he would either have to give me the staff a very good excuse. He did one better...he said he would be forced to break what he likes to call the "Skulltrometer" record for skulling a jug of bourbon and coke. The current "Skulltrometer" record for The Skuller is 35 seconds. He informs me that for his behaviour of missing the party he may have to do two jugs in less than one-minute and thirty-five seconds. While we don't want to encourage the Skuller to do this, it's his commitment to his cause that just cannot allow the four-day suspension.
  • more to come later today....

Common Sense

"Logical decision, logically arrived at." - Spock

Here's what I want to know...

  • Why during exam period are there tour groups of children being led through the library by tutors?
  • Why are we being spammed in our student account. Aren't we supposed to have those accounts for important school information? See this example this week from Bonnie Sleep who apparently works here at the business school:

I'm a lecturer at Bond in the School of Business, teaching an Innovation and Creativity Class and I also work for an innovative holistic medical practice on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane.

It might be too late for some of you who have finished the exam torture but we do have a remarkable Exam Peak Performance procedure which will only take an hour but will give you access to your peak stamina, clarity and mental acuity. Call the 1300 number below and mention me and we'll give you a Bond discount and fit you in whenever we can to suit your schedule. We are in Robina at the RiverWalk Place building near the Railway Station roundabout.

  • Why is there construction going on making noise at the back of law library during exam study time (although, thanks to Skuller and Allan Finch for solving that one pretty quick).
  • Why were repairs to the Brasserie taking place during the semester when there is a four week period when they could have been done without disrupting students?
  • Why can't there be a common sense checklist before doing things? I dunno, maybe there's a logical explanation for these things. But, I've got more examples that are coming.
  • Maybe the administration should have a common sense meeting just like Gulcin and the Library did about a month ago.
  • Where is our student counsel on these issues. What does the Bond University Student Counsel do?
  • Rumour has it that the Law Student's Association has secured more funding than ever before (approx. 30% more) from Melbas for the coming year. That should be good news for students. I'm told the popular event is being taken to a new level.
  • Thanks to Brendan Scandrett for the phone loan...now how do I unlock the damn thing?

Sick

Returning soon...sick right now.

This and that...(updated)

  • I have yet to meet a person that enjoys exams.
  • Dinner at the Brasserie last night. Butter Chicken with rice. Not too bad.
  • Company at dinner included Jim Payne (thanks for dinner), Nate (of the terrible three/Hulkamania), Amy Rowland, Matt Hooper (LSA Vice President who is still not talking to me much due to the "C" grade on the LSA report cards), Justin Tilley (Bond Uni VP) and his lovely partner Jess. The "Culinary Critic" Matt Lorkin joined us briefly. His roast beef looked like a chopped up belt covered in gravy. He just got back from Sydney from watching his son Tom play in his Rugby League Grand Final. Lorkin informed us that his son's team won, and his junior got man of the match. Well done young Lorkin.
  • Rumours are swirling about the upcoming Bond University Elections for October. An early poll was held among the rumoured contenders Justin Tilley, Matt Cantatore, and Steph Campi. The poll's results had Tilley with a lead of 38 per cent while Cantatore and Campi were in a virtual dead-heat with 31 per cent each. The interesting thing about the poll was that Cantatore was found to have the most room for growth with 65 per cent willing to give him another look during the campaign. His appeal comes from his enthusiasm about the Bond Community while Tilley's support has a steady strength but is weaker among the part-time students at Bond. Campi's support is stagnant and is based on a small constituency. Many wonder her ability to compete in the campaign after she has been all but invisible that last two semesters.
  • Being sick sucks...being sick during exams is even worse. Dr. Karsass at the Bond Uni medical clinic may just do the trick.
  • My law joke of the week is this: The energizer bunny was arrested...he was charged with battery (this blog is getting pathetic...or has always been).
  • More ads will be coming on this site. If you wish to advertise with us (as Dell has), please contact the Skuller. Speaking of the Skuller, I couldn't help but laugh when I asked how is torts studying was coming...he sent me the link to his page - here (look at the small picture in the corner of the book).
  • The album of the week (seen picture at the top) is AC/DC's For those about to Rock (we salute you). A great album. Reached number one on the Billboard charts in 1981, mostly due to the strength of the previous album Back in Black (which is the biggest selling hard-rock album of all-time and the 5th best selling album of any kind of all-time). For those about to Rock was the last AC/DC album produced by legendary producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange (who is coincidentally married to Shania Twain). Mutt has, arguably, produced AC/DC's most successful albums - Highway to Hell (1979), Back in Black (1980), and For those about to Rock. For those about to Rock has become a staple at all concerts since it's release. The band usually closes concerts with the song and by bringing out large cannons out and firing them to signify a 21 gun salute. Most of the time they are so loud that they blow your ear drums out. Try the title track as well as these songs - Let's get it up, Inject the Venom, and Evil Walks.
  • I have never eaten Kangaroo. That also means I have never eaten raw Kangaroo. I know no man that lives in the outback. However, that is not to say I am adverse to meeting any man from the outback and eaten cooked/raw Kangaroo with him. I have also never eaten green eggs and ham...however, the same provision applies - I am open.
  • Always remember, a day without sunshine, is like night.
  • Lastly, a special thanks to two people this week - Naomi King and Leigh McBean. Thanks for the help. By the way....Naomi sends this link. She says it reminded her of the German takeover of the library room that we experienced this week - great clip.

Sisters are doing it for themselves

Prisco claims provincial championship

Nugget Staff
Local Sports - Saturday, August 12, 2006 @ 08:00

North Bay's Roslyn Prisco returned home a champion as three riders from the North Bay Cycling Club competed in the Cyclissimo Grand Prix Provincial Championship Road Race, recently.

Four hundred racers from 10 classifications completed between eight and 15 laps around an eight-kilometre course of fast, hilly terrain.

Prisco won her 10-lap race in a decisive sprint to the finish against Tabitha Ferguson of the Waterloo Cycling Club. The race broke apart in the remaining three kilometres when Prisco and Ferguson gapped the main group on the last hill. The race came down to a final sprint, with Prisco overtaking Ferguson with 150 metres to the line.

Riding in the Master 'A' category of 90 riders, Aaron Duquette and Kevin Stoppa completed 13 of 15 laps of the 123-km course. Both riders remained with the peleton until an unfortunate crash in the feed zone forced Duquette out of the main group. Stoppa and Duquette finished 56th and 57th respectively.

Skuller, study, and sanity

  • Thanks to "The Skuller" for dinner last night in the Brasserie. Company included James, Callina, Sam Chester and the Skuller himself.
  • When the Vitamin asked Skuller why he wasn't wearing any shoes to dinner, the Skuller replied, "I'm not wearing any F$%^ing shoes until the food in the Brasserie improves." Skuller does admit that he may not be wearing his shoes for some time
  • The battle for the Library tables with the Germans has continued. However, we Canadians decided to come in early one morning when they weren't expecting it (just after the french couple retreated to the back of the library). It seems to have worked. Now we have one side of the room, and they have the other. The sight of our computers and technology offends them though. They've started to construct what looks to be a barrier or wall of some kind?
  • Further on the Skuller...apparently he was upset about the construction outside the law library. I'm not going to steal his thunder, so go here to find more. He's been in touch with the Registrar...well done Skuller (we might have to work on his approach though...).

Brain Shake - useless thoughts (edited)

  • Another day of study for most at Bond Uni.
  • Dinner in the brasserie last night courtesy of the Culinary Critic - Matt Lorkin. He considered the food pretty average. But he did say this to me, "Last week the food was good. I think after a Bond staff member found that cockroach in their soup in the Princeton room, the cooking staff cleaned up their act, but this week, it's back to pretty average."
  • It was also a pleasure for www.gordprisco.blogspot.com's alcohol critic - Jack "Skuller" Blackburn - to join us half-way through dinner. When asked why he wasn't eating, he said something to the effect that he was 'protesting this shithole.' The Skuller enjoys swearing.
  • The Skuller also reported that he got his Admin assignment back. He did relatively well considering he went 900 words over the word limit (note: the assignment was only to be 1500 words).
  • Every morning it's a fight to get this one room at the Main Library. I've had to get here earlier and earlier. The German students are trying to take over the whole room. It's like my table is Poland....despite the fact that they told me they wouldn't take it, the next day they took it anyway.
  • If you haven't played Solitaire Showdown with someone on your MSN list yet - then don't. It's quite addictive. I used to "OWN" the players I played against...now I'm slumping.
  • www.gordprisco.blogspot.com will soon be announcing a new critic to the blog. We won't give it away, but he goes to Bond Uni, he's an Armenian Canadian, and he smokes....but no other hints because we might give it away. You'll have to figure it out for yourself.
  • Breakfast
  • In a break from studying Evidence, my friend Tom told me that he doesn't really want to practice law long. He says, "I'll practice for five years, become and executive of a public company, and then later the CEO. After five years, the company will go belly-up, I'll walk away with $30 million and things will be cool." Interesting.
  • Thanks to the Bond Students Association for the free breakfast in front of Juicy Bits yesterday. The ever smililing Cait was giving out eggs, Will Ewing turning the sausages, Sam Marash was on everything duty as usual with his partner in crime Justin Tilley - Qu'une équipe!

The Champ

In a province of 12 million people there is one woman's road race champion - my sister Ros.

Well done.

We still are collecting the "B" samples from the mandatory drug testing, but things look good so far.

Today and Tomorrow

It is 6:32pm, stuck in the library. Studying....I think I may have figured out my equity question. Anyway, not much time for a good post (are they ever good anymore?). And here is one thing I would like to know (to change the topic). What is the rule when you put a question mark inside brackets? Do you add the period (full-stop in Australia) after the closed bracket? If anyone could help me with the rule, I seemed to have forgot?

I may have learned the rule in High School...but who knows. Those days did not consist of the most wisely spent time in my life.

Thinking of that, the following is something I should have done in grade 11.

A father passing by his son's bedroom, was astonished to see the bed was nicely made, and everything was picked up. Then, he saw an envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow. It was addressed, "Dad." With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter, with trembling hands.

"Dear Dad, It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I
had to elope with my new girlfriend, because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you. I've been finding real passion with Stacy, and she is so nice, but I knew you would not approve of her, because of all her piercing, tattoos, her tight motorcycle clothes, and because she is so much older than I am.

But it's not only the passion, Dad, she's
pregnant. Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods, and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter.

We share a dream of having many more children. Stacy has opened my
eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't, really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it for ourselves, and trading it with the other people in the commune, for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want.

In the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS,
so Stacy can get better. She sure deserves it!! Don't worry, Dad, I'm 15, and I know how to take care of myself.

Someday, I'm sure we'll be back to visit, so you can get to know your
grandchildren.

Love, your son, Tommy.

P. S. Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at Ricky's house. I just
wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than the report card that's in my center desk drawer. I love you! Call when it is safe for me to come home

That's all for now....

Hearsay

Here are today's quick thoughts:

  • The Terrible Three (now know as T3) were out on Saturday night (Nate, Matt Lambert, and The Vitamin). Nate has proven to be more terrible than could have imagined. Thanks to Marc for this pic. You have to see it....it's kinda ironic...and they got the name wrong...but it is also fitting.
  • Studying for my Evidence exam today.
  • www.gordprisco.blogspot.com gets upset by a few things these days 1) the lack of a new AC/DC album - it's been 6 years since their last 2) The Toronto Blue Jays slide down the standings of the American League East Baseball standings.
  • George Harrison was one of the Beatles. A little known fact that The Vitamin shared with James Payne was that he was usually only allowed to write two songs per Beatles album. But don't discount his efforts. Some of his songs included classics: Here Comes the Sun, Yesterday, If I need Someone, Taxman and While my Guitar Gently Weeps. Ringo got to write one song per album.
  • The blogging community is growing at Bond University. Sam Cochrane posted a message on my Facebook page telling me that he thought I was the Kerry Packer of Bond - monopolizing the media. Others have referred to me as the Oprah of blogging here (ok, nobody has ever called me that, but for the purpose of my next point bear with me). Well, if I am the Oprah of blogging - The Skuller is my Doctor Phil.
  • I just went pee, and now I have to go again....what's with that?

The Edge

This is "The Edge." Guitarist for the Rock band U2. Notice the guitar he is playing. It's a Gibson SG. The same one made famous by Rock legend Angus Young of AC/DC. Anyway, while that is a very important fact - it's not the reason for this post. The reason is this: after many discussions with the staff, we've decided that the edge needs to return to this blog. With that, you're going to see more the old mixed with the new - A new stew.

Look this week for:
  • 7 Questions with a new personality
  • More AC/DC news
  • Devil Horn Treatment
  • New York Knick talk with Marc
  • My mom's chilli recipe
  • Skuller's reports on alcohol
  • James Payne Wikipedia updates
  • A new and improved Culinary Corner with Matt Lorkin
We'll give the LSA the week off. That is unless Skuller can come up with a scandal worthy of reporting. He's kinda like the national enquirer of Bond Blogging...but better. Speaking of which, he's got a great new column out. Find it here...

Another Special Day

Coincidentally, it is also the Wild Drunk's Birthday today (seen above right).

Happy Birthday Morgan.

May you live to be a hundred years old, and the last voice you hear be mine.

August 6th

August 6th is this man's birthday - Rob Bartrop.

Friend to all - enemy to none.

Rob is the one that loaned me my current bike. Yes, the same one that I flipped over on, landed on my head and dislocated my shoulder. Knowing the law of Torts (albeit not very well), there's something called duty of care. Not sure if bike loaner and loanee is an established category, but anyway. Because he's such a good guy, I didn't take action against him. Further, the law of property speaks to abandonment of personal chattel. Well, he's abandoned the bike and it's mine now! hahaha...ok, just kidding Rob.

Rob, I occassionaly get birthday wishes from readers of my blog....but the message is always the same - they hope it's my last.

Anyway....as you say in Australia, your a Legend....a Champion..

And as we'd say in Canada - "I bet he'd kick some ass in a fight"

haha - kidding again.

Happy Birthday Rob.

Reports Cards are in.....

As the end of the semester nears, students have been receiving grades. Good and bad, it's always interesting. We at www.gordprisco.blogspot.com believe...well...to be honest...I'm not sure what we believe here?

Anyway, this is what's been done. www.gordprisco.blogspot.com has solicited the opinions of a few others to create the first of many Bond Law Student's Association Report Card. A range of factors have been considered, but there is no real scientific formula used in considering the grades. In fact, I think we decided over some french fries and gravy in the brasserie.

So here it is:

Sam "the Big Easy" Berry (Publications Director) - Sam is a people's man, who has an easy-going nature. It's possible Berry could have big things in his future, but we also think it's not in him to seek the limelight. He quietly goes about his business and gets the job done. One unnamed staff member of www.gordprisco.blogspot.com had the pleasure of speaking with Berry over drinks at Don's Tavern this past Thursday as well as during his LSA open office hours. Not a bad thing could be thought of for Berry. Furthermore, he took charge his first week on the LSA and got limes for our Corona's for Club 20 - pure genius. For his efforts A+

Will Ewing (Competitions) - A favourite of the grading committee. Although, there was disappointment last week. The Client Interview Competition was held at Bond Uni. The LSA does a fantastic job holding these events with the help of the law faculty. The finals of these events are usually a well attended event because of the competition and the free pizza. It's nice to celebrate the best we have. However, the final for the Client Interview Competition was held at 4:30pm - not its usual 6pm time. LSA members were scrambling to get anyone in the room to see the finals. The attendance was scarce at best. However, notwithstanding this mistake, the grading committee sees big things for Ewing, so we're giving him C+

Matthew Hooper (Vice-President) - The "bright light" of the LSA has been dim so far this semester. We assume he's been active on files, yet he's not as visible as other members (although he gave a thorough beating to Sam Marash in the Fight Night last evening). We just expect more from Hooper. He's held to a higher standard. For this reason we're giving him a mark he has probably never ever ever ever ever seen before (and plus, we're the only ones who can, without substantial justification, give him such a mark) - C

Brendan "Brother" Scandrett (Academic Affairs) - Scandrett is a newby to the political scene. Not quite as polished as Berry, but he has certainly given it his all. He fought a hard race in the election (which rumour has it he won by two votes), so he's had a lot to prove. The committee thinks he's been up and down thus far. His emails to students re: tutoring seminars are fantastic. However, his choice to wear tank tops (singlets) around school leaves something to be desired (ok fine, so we didn't have much else to say so we said that). The kid is on the ball. The committee decided to give Scandrett a lower grade, but because he kicked my ass in fight night, the staff at www.gordprisco.blogspot.com decided to up his grade. B-

Michelle Smith (Treasurer) - Because there hasn't been a budget yet, it's hard to give the Treasurer a fair grade. However, there have been no rumours of Club 20 money being embezzled, therefore the committee has decided to give Michelle C+

Tristan "the Real Deal" Blom (Secretary) - While so much was expected out of Matt Hooper, it wasn't known what was to be expected out of Blom. But the verdict is out - this guy is the real deal. Our sources tell us he's the glue that keeps this LSA together, or the rudder that is keeping this ship in the right direction. I'll use this analogy - Led Zeppelin was a great rock band. Guitarist Jimmy Page was the face of the band along with vocalist Robert Plant. However, the true genius of Led Zeppelin was drummer John Bonham. He was one of the best ever, but didn't get all the credit that the others did cause the drummer's always in the back. But maybe Bonham is a bad example cause he died early? hmmm....well...you get the point. A++

Ari Comert (Special Interests) - Ari's job is to make student's feel welcome at the school and serve minority groups. Well....he gives out more of his cigarettes to people than a dispenser. And he's Armenian Canadian/Brazilian/Cuban/whatever else he wants to be that week so in serving himself, he's serving minority groups I guess? But seriously (something we rarely are here at www.gordprisco.blogspot.com), Ari came in with low expectations but is proving to be a quick study. His outgoing nature serves him well, and will serve the collective at Bond in the coming few semesters. A-

Tom Clarke (Social Director) - The school was taking a big chance electing Tom. Here's a guy who apparently hadn't touched a drop of the sauce in his life prior to Uni games. How can you be social director without having touched a drop of the grog? Yet, he's been gold for the LSA. One of his more public moves was with Club 20. A concerned student, who just happens to be on the www.gordprisco.blogspot.com staff, mentioned to Clarke that considering we're in Australia, it would be nice to hear some Aussie tunes. For most people, they'd listen, blow some hot air about doing something, and then do nothing. Well, Clarke proved us wrong. He responded - and acted. The very next Club 20 we were hearing the likes of Cold Chisel, The Choirboys, INXS, Kylie Minogue, the great AC/DC, and many others. If this is the kind of go-getter attitude that's gonna continue, then Clarke has big things on the horizon. A-

Trevor Burgis (External Affairs) - Burgis is worth his weight in Gold. Juggling duties both on the LSA and CLSA, he has been as good of a communicator as we all expected. He hasn't lost his stride since the campaign. If there's an issue that needs to be answered, Burgis is known for his straight shooting style. He'll give you substance - not spin. The one knock on Burgis is that his days of skulling beers seem to be over. It was seen at one time that he could compete with Skuller Blackburn in a skulling competition, but those days seem to be behind him (some say for better, others say for worse). We won't hold it against him. A+

Brendan Donoghue (President) - No President has had to deal with being held more accountable than this President. Every move he makes is being watched and reported on. An underdog going into his campaign for presidency, he led 50 per cent of his team to victory...some only got in because of his popularity at the polls bringing them higher (we have no real proof of this, but we're gonna say it anyway). There have been some successes and some letdowns thus far. Some of the letdowns have been the inability to do anything concerning our Culinary Critic's (Matt Lorkin) concerns about the food in the Brasserie (even though it's not even close to his jurisdiction). Or the rumour that now that he's been elected, he's taken a corner office in the Law School. But the fact is this - he's visible, he's accountable, and thus far he's taken action on his platform (we're not really sure if he has or not, but it sounds good. Nobody remembers what his platform was anyway). He is slowly shedding the reputation he's got for blowing hot air and not acting. An unnamed member of council confided to one of the staff at www.gordprisco.blogspot.com that they are impressed by what he brings to the table. They thought he had nothing, but has proven even them wrong. Let's hope he keeps it up. B

Most importantly, money is going to the Starlite Foundation. This organization helps grant wishes to seriously ill children. Distractive therapy is what they do - trying to take kids and family minds off of terrible illness'....if only for a little while. That may mean taking a kid to meet his favourite Hockey Player, Rugby Legend, or taking him to Disneyland. It's worth the cause, even if we're all poor students, there are a lot of kids worse off than us.

Be there...

And in other news...this piece by Tom Green. Yup, it's North Bay - My hometown.

Lastly, the Jack "skuller" Blackburn has entered the world of blogspot blogging - found here. He informs me that this will not conflict with his duties as the alcohol critic of www.gordprisco.blogspot.com.
Also, the usual disclaimer applies - nothing said by the Skuller is representative of anyone at www.gordprisco.blogspot.com - although we usually agree with the Skuller and we've got his back...cause that's how we roll.
