Today's Thoughts

  • Another terrible beating given on the golf course today by Dave and I over Marc and his father. We beat them in the team game 6 and 5 - which for those of you that don't golf means that the match was over by the 13th hole. In golf terms, a real beating. It was quite funny because they guaranteed victory before the match.
  • As an aside, I also beat Marc again. 4 and 3 - also considered quite a beating. It's the second time of three that I have won.
  • I'm reading Stupid White Men - Michael Moore's book on politics. It's not that good yet...I hope it gets better.
  • I haven't done my taxes - but I did my laundry.
  • Courtesy of Christine Hogarth I am now the proud owner of an AC/DC collector glass set. I remember an old friend of mine got me an signed AC/DC tour book from the Blow Up Your Video tour. It was also a great gift. Some things in life you'll never forget.
  • I went out with Rob Bartrop last evening. A thoroughly enjoyable night that I hope to repeat soon.
  • My roommate Pete just bought a new chair for his computer desk. He referred to his old chair as one that is often seen in the squared circle of the WWF being bashed over some poor wrestler.
  • Another golf match tomorrow. Maybe Mr Lucenti and Marc can put up a better challenge. The free beer at the end of the rounds are nice...but a little competition is more fun.

Bob Lucenti Update - Seen!

This photo taken by an amateur photographer at a local golf course shows Mr Bob Lucenti readying himself on the driving range. After this photo was taken and repeated attempts at questioning Mr Lucenti about his cheating ways on the golf course, Bob charged the photographer with a pitching wedge screaming, "get out of my life, it was my ball that I found!!"

Mr Lucenti sped off on his golf cart, no doubt preparing himself for another round of skulduggery.

I'm back

ā€œIā€™m back.ā€--Michael Jordan, announcing on March 18, 1995 his return to the Chicago Bulls

It's great to be back in the land of blogs.

Over the last few weeks, exams were killing me. Now, i have seemingly recovered. Although, waking up with nightmares of a Crim B exam, doesn't help sleep.

Over the next few weeks, you'll see a new blogging atmosphere...a new and improved page.

Start looking for updates again.

I've been watching Star Wars. It's giving me heaps of ideas.

oh yeah...I think I've also found Jesus.

please see here. I wish I could take credit for stuff like this.

http://www.break.com/index/spiritoftruth.html

Have you seen this man?

Wanted: Golf cheat Mr Bob Lucenti was recently seen on the Gold Coast, in sunny Australia, cheating in a game of golf. Known for his cheating ways back in Canada where balls are miraculously found after errant tee shots, Bob has brought his cheating his ways to Australia.
If you see this man, DO NOT play him, DO NOT approach him. He is considered armed (with a foot wedge) and dangerous (with a scorecard eraser).

Father to Marc and Dave Lucenti, the sons are at sometimes reluctant to speak of their father's cheating ways. However, Marc has been seen as his playing partner on at least two occasions while Bob has been on the coast.

"I'm not sure what you're talking about," said Marc Lucenti. "I don't watch my father's game when I'm out there. I'm concentrating on my own shots. I can't account for him, he's a grown man."

Somewhat more agreeing to speak of his father's ways was the older David.

"This wasn't the way my father brought me up," said Dave. "I really don't know how he found that ball in the bush. I mean, he was hitting one ball all day, and he came out of the bush with another. I'm ashamed."

Mr Lucenti's whereabouts now are unknown, but rumour has it that he and his swindling ways are in the Whitsunday Islands, in Northern Queensland. It's possible he is using his golf cheat winnings to fund a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Knowing Bob, he'll probably find one of his balls at the reef too.

my last post

In reference to my last post on Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada....I feel a sense of acknowledgment or rather ...shit, I can't think of the right adjective. Anyway, Warren Kinsella, who is regarded as one of the best political strategists in Canada, had the same pic on his site after I put mine up with the same thoughts.

What a genius I am.

2 exams down...2 to go.

bring it on...I think?

Politics 101

Sometimes in politics you can just nod your head and say....damn, that's good. An example includes George Bush at the 9/11 site standing with a megaphone on a heap of rubbish, his arm around a fireman.

While the above picture isn't nearly as significant, the picture is fantastic. Here's the guy with the hidden agenda, that's gonna ruin our country....with a kid pinching his nose. This has regular, TIm Horton's, Hockey dad written all over it. Regular Joe Blow...just like 30 million other Canadians see themselves.

So far so good.

The Brother's "Diot"

I usually don't let the pressure get to me for my posts. However, because of demand, I present to you the brother's "Diot". Brother "Ni" on the left, and brother "I" on the right. Also known as Marc and Dave.

I hope they get eaten by a shark.

Soon their father comes here. He's gonna be excited to do some of the things that they do on a daily basis.

1) wake-up (probably the most exciting thing he'll do)
2) turn on the computer (hopefully he brings one, and hopefully he has a fantasy baseball, hockey, football team...because there'll be alot of looking at the daily stats of the players.
3) maybe turn on the TV. Marc and Dave have Foxtel - which is essentially cable.
4) maybe go to the grocery store and buy 1400 bags of chips and dip for Marc. Dave will saunter along.
5) get home and watch an episode of "24" that has been downloading all day.
6) go to bed

Now, if Mr Lucenti chooses to come out with me, here's how a day will go...

1) wake up
2) bike to the beach, go for a boogie board and a run
3) plan a trip to Byron Bay for the afternooon where we may see the most easternly point of australia as well as sit at the Beach Hotel and talk politics or just about the serenity.
4) come back and go for dinner at the Fermented Grape in Broadbeach where the wine is all you can drink.
5) Varsity tavern for some after dinner drinks...
6) midnight we catch the free bus to surfer's paradise and get a free drink at Melba's nightclub.
7) we schmooze some of the local ladies.
8) grab a kebab from Ispa Kebabs, the worst kebab ever, but what history.
9) Make our way back to sailfish cove - home....

that's it for now.

Back to studying....

Bits and Pieces

Land Law is done. Goodbye and good riddance to leases, licences, mortgages, boundaries, co-ownership...etc.

Criminal Procedure B is next - Entrapment, Sentencing, Police Powers...I predict a decent result for this one.

On another topic, chew on this one and don't be afraid to comment. Five best female singers out there today. I'll include a few that would make my list...and some others for some thought.

1) Sarah McLachlan
2) Natalie Merchant (including 10,000 maniacs material)
3) Edie Brickell
4) Sarah Harmer
5) Dolores O'Riordan (from the Cranberries)

Honourable mentions:
Dido, Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac Material Included), Norah Jones, Lauren Hill (Fugees stuff included), Sheryl Crow, Shania Twain.

A very tough list.

Wouldn't it be a perfect world if any one of the above married Angus Young from AC/DC?

Had to post this...

During my study break I was reading the Toronto Star. The liberal leadership contest.

The Toronto Star of all papers wrote this...hilarious...and true.

Yes, Rae, must prove he's a Liberal and not just an opportunist ā€” some say there's no measurable difference

Back In Black

Currently speaking with my niece and nephew on webcam microphone...

My nephew Ethan asked me what I did at school? I told him I was reading. He said why? I couldn't give him a good answer. Then I told him that I was finger painting and playing with trucks...which is sometimes how I feel. He could relate to that.

My niece (who is 2) started to say something as well. She's not usually very talkative with me. At first it was hard to comprehend...but after listening a little closer, it became familiar. Apparently she was reciting the first verse from Back in Black.

Back in Black,
I've hit the sack.
It's been to long,
I'm glad to be back.

God bless her. She's certainliy on the right track. Good work Ella.

It would have been nice if she could have recited the elements of the Retail Shop Leases Act...but I think the former was more important.

Come and get it!

I'm busy studying. Don't really have time for this nonsense page. Nevertheless, I figured I should write down what I just ate in case something happens to me.

First: Sundried tomato sausages. Usually delicious. This time was no exception. But...when you cook frozen food and take the quick way by broiling and not thawing, there may be problems. They may have been a little pink inside.

Second: Noodles from Crazy Clarks I bought for 50 cents a package. On top of those, I had a Honey Soy sauce from my fridge. After putting it on the noodles, I realized the sauce is only good for three days after opening. Well....that was a month ago.

The good sign is that if I'm sick enough, I can miss my exam on Thursday.

The bad news is that I may be dead soon.

With that said...I still may choose option #1...we'll see how my studying continues.

Exam Preparation Thoughts

  • Common exam discussions between students may range from the helpful - to the absurd. Today my friend Matt told me about possible Constitutional Law questions for our exam. He also told me what style of pen was the best to write the exam. Unfortunatley (or fortunately...depending on your perspective) his explaination on the Pentel Liquidgel ink pen was in more depth than his explaination on the how the Corporations Power can be applied.
  • My father sent me the following email after observing on my blog (I assume) that I talk about rock and roll more than my legal studies:

Dad: Is the band (AC/DC) staying with you? Are they coming to help you study?

This was my response:

It would help if one of their songs had something to do with Land Law...

  • With that, I'll leave you with some of the Lyrics from Rock and Roll Singer off AC/DC's High Voltage album -1976

My Daddy was workin' nine to five,

When my Momma was havin' me,

By the time I was half alive,

They knew what I was gonna be,

I left school...and grew my hair,

They didn't understand.

They wanted me to be respected,

As a doctor or a lawyer man

...But I had other plans

Rolling and Rocking Down Under

This is one of my boys. Apparently he's in the neighbourhood to play a few shows for my Australian friends.

Keith's favorite band is also AC/DC.

This chick's got it right too. Check it here.

Update: All the Stones are being interviewed on Australian 60 Minutes. A Woman named Ellen Fanning is interviewing them. She is an idiot. Charlie Watts is putting her in her place.

Ellen Fanning: "Charlie, you had a cancer scare...."

Charlie Watts: "I didn't have a scare, I HAD CANCER."

Masters Pool - 2nd Round Update

c This really doesn't concern anyone else. It's merely an online reminder of the resuluts of our Masters golf pool picks. Feel free to comment on who you think will win. The rules are as follow: Pick 6 players, take your best three by end of weekend, best (lowest) cumulative score wins.

Me: M. Weir even, C. Dimarco +6, D. Love III +1, M. Campbell +5, F. Couples -3, T. Bjorn +4
Unnamed Student: E. Els -2, J.M. Olazabal +3 C. Campbell -6, R. Sabbatini +2, B. Langher +9, K.J. Choi +8
David: R. Goosen -1, S. Garcia +2, D. Toms +6, D. Clarke -2, R. Allenby +2, D. Duval +15

Matty: VJ Singh -3, L. Donald +2, C. Howell +20, S. Appleby +2, T. Hamilton +6, L. Westwood +6
Marc: P. Mickelson -2, S. Ames even, A. Scott +2, Z. Johnson +2, P. Harrington -1, M. Hensby +3
The Wild Drunk: T. Woods -1, R. Pampling +1, J. Furyk +4, S. Verplank even,
R. Mediate -3, C. Montgomerie" +5

Standings after round one using top three players:
Wild Drunk -4
Matty: -4
David: -2
Me: -1
Marc: -1
Unnamed Student: +2

Comments: Vijay will be tough to beat...Mediate finish out of the top 8 by the end...Duval is in tight with 1971 champ Charles Coody...Mickelson will finish 4th this year...Weir will struggle to even par on Friday but bounce back for at least a top five finish this weekend...big story of the weekend will be Ben Crenshaw and Fred Couples in the top ten and both having a chance but they'll come up short...Tiger finishes 8th this week...

Second Round Update
Me: -2
Unnamed Student: -6
David: -1
Matty: +1
Marc: -3
The Wild Drunk: -4

Comments: Tiger has put himself in familiar territory, he may make another run, however, this commentator still believes he isn't playing well enough - and with his ailing father on his mind, he won't have enough...Vijay played as poorly as possible and is still 2nd. With his bad round out of the way - look out...Weir is playing solid, if he gets some putts to drop he'll be right there...Fred Couples can win this thing, he may know the course better than anyone out there (save Olazabal)...Campbell had his lucky day, he'll come top 8, but won't win...Mediate's luck is running out...watch for Olazabal to make a serious run...Mickelson will come top 5 again...Goosen is a cool customer, but I think he's got a bad round in him...

Statement

This is a message to the ants that were in my room today:

"Dear ants. If you're reading this, then you escaped today. I hope you enjoyed that pizza crust that was on my side table. I hope you also noticed your that your cousins won't be coming home tonight. You may or may not have seen me using the vacuum cleaner on them. I'll only say this once...if I ever see one of you in my room, I'll leave you a treat that you're whole family will love...but, it'll be tough waking up after this treat."

On another note, my friend James Payne (from the Gum Incident in an earlier post), tells me
that he's decided to market Lando Calrissian shirts. For those of you that don't know, General Calrissian was leader of the cloud city and served under Admiral Ackbar in the Star Wars movies.

Here's the msn message he sent me:

James:
[I'd have] a picture of him on the back; 'you belong with us among the clouds'
Lando says:
what do you think?
Lando says:
mind you; it was lando, not ackbar who saved the day finding out the deflector shield was still up
Lando says:
did you think about that?

James is also in Law School. He may also have too much time on his hands...but it's a great idea.

Last thing...look at this clip. Just watch the first 30 seconds. I want that dog!

Although, that dog is begging to get hit by a car...

Life...

My friend Rob asked me about love the other night.

I told him this:

"I loved a woman once...she left me... AC/DC has never left me."

Long live Rock and Roll, long live the Thunder from Down Under!

More Random Thoughts

  • The Masters golf tournament begins this week in Augusta, Georgia. Seen above is 2003 Masters Champion, Mike Weir - from my Bright's Grove, Ontario. He should be considered a favourite this year. My other picks for contention besides the favourites of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson et al, include Davis Love III, Jose Marie Olazabal and Stephen Ames.
  • A great article on playing the famed course by Ray Romanow can be seen in this link http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/masters06/news/story?id=2394886&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab1pos2
  • I'm currently doing a Criminal Law Paper. Sentencing and Guilty pleas...it's driving me bananas. I don't really care about the two-tier approach or instinctive synthesis...oh well.
  • Songs you should be listening to right now include Gallows Pole - Led Zeppelin, From here you can almost see the Sea - David Gray, Strutter - Kiss, Kashmir - Led Zeppelin, Dog Eat Dog - AC/DC, Get it Hot - AC/DC, or anything by Dido or Supergrass.
  • The baseball pool has started. My strategy was to go with top pitchers in the draft and rely on mid tier hitters to come through big. Pitchers I acquired include Johan Santana, Jake Peavey, Roy Oswalt, Matt Clement, and Scott Kazmir. A formidable staff to say the least. If hitters like Richie Sexson, Bobby Crosby, Brian Giles and Victor Martinez can come through, it could be a successful venture.
  • I'm trying to secure another interview with my father, but apparently he has had some contact with Stephen Harper's office and he is obfuscating from any interview requests. He instead is only talking about my five priorities at law school (for those of you that have no idea what that means, see here - http://winnipegsun.com/News/Canada/2006/03/18/1493781-sun.html)
  • I'm gonn start a petition at Bond University for them to include some AC/DC titles in their DVD collection. The message that I'll be spreading is this - It's a matter of pride and patriotism - Let Bond know you're unhappy about this startling omission. Bring AC/DC home...Bring AC/DC to Bond.

That's all for now....

Recent Comments

I'd like to talk about a recent comment to one of my messages. Here it is:

Anonymous said...
This blog is getting a little bit boring. What about a comment on the Australian tourism add? Canada has sensored this. The UK did but had a change of heart. As an Australian I wish they had come up with something a little more imaginative that did need to employ the phrase: "where the bloody hell are you?" Qantas did an advertising campaign a few years back that was far more effective.

Now, I have a few ideas of who wrote this. However, that's not the point. Here are the points.

1) If you think my blog is boring - Bite my nuts, I'll write about squash, a roasted chicken, or Commander Ackbar whenever I please. That's why the address has my name in the URL. It doesn't say www.anonymousfool.blogspot.com (that's not a real link...but it should be).

2) Ok, I'll humour you on the tourism ad. The ad should say something like this - "Please come to Australia. We're racist. Look at our Constitution. There's a clause that has been interpreted by the High Court of Australia so that the government can make laws to the detrminent of any race. As well, we recently had a mob of people in Sydney beating some Muslims. We don't have a Bill of Rights. We'd rather curtail rights of our people. Also, Sharks ate a 21 year old girl close to Brisbane last month. Or why don't you come here to get stung by a Boxed Jellyfish, it'll cause you to have the worst death known to man. Or how about come to the Gold Coast where Tatoos covering half of your body is mandatory."

3) Qantas...well...they're a good airline. And you know the reason why? They got their start using De haviland planes. And where do you think they came from? Don't know? I'll tell you - Canada. And what type of planes did Qantas just order? Bombardier planes...hmmm...take a guess where they're from. They're just for short-haul flights though. We won't sell them planes to travel over the ocean, we're worried that the on-board tatoo parlours might distract the pilots.

That's all for now. Keep the comments coming.
